Emergency Push Button

An emergency push button, also known as an emergency stop (E-stop) button, is a critical safety device designed to provide immediate and direct means to shut down machinery or processes in the event of an emergency. 

• The emergency push button is usually red with a yellow background to ensure high visibility.

• It often has a large, mushroom-shaped head that is easy to hit, even in a state of panic.

• The button operates on a latching mechanism. When pressed, it stays in the "engaged" or "off" position until manually reset.

• Resetting the button usually requires a twist or pull action, preventing accidental resets and ensuring intentional engagement.

• Maintained Contact: Stays in the off position until manually reset.

• Momentary Contact: Returns to its original position after being pressed but still requires a reset action to restart the machine.
